HERTZ CORPORATE PROGRAM

• Hertz is the university's preferred rental car vendor worldwide

• The Hertz Corporate Program is available to all Cornell employees and students age 21 and older for reimbursable business travel. (age 21 in New York City and Metro-Tri-State Area with a differential charge)

• Hertz rentals can no longer be direct charged to Cornell department accounts.

• The renter must have a valid driver’s license and a major credit card in their name. (For tax exempt business rentals in NY State, the renter must pay with a Cornell Corporate credit card)

• The Cornell Corporate Number (CD #) is 17564. Reservations for business travel with this number receive full contract benefits. Contract insurance benefits do not apply to personal travel.

• Reservations can be made at hertz.com, with Hertz directly or through the American Express AXIOM online service.  The CD Number must be given at the time of reservation.

• All rentals in United States & Puerto Rico include ALL insurances for business travel.

• Business rentals in New York State (picking up and dropping off in NYS) are TAX EXEMPT. Cornell travelers will not need to present a tax exempt certificate to have tax exempt status in the state of New York. A Corporate Card must be used.

• Hertz Mini-Vans and Specialty Vehicles must be guaranteed to a credit card.

• Hertz Mini-Vans in Ithaca are on a request basis only.  Require at least a 3 day advance notice.

• Hertz #1 Club Gold - Fee-waived

HERTZ PERSONAL RENTALS

• The Cornell CDP # 17564 can be used for personal rentals - but NO insurance is included.

• Renter must be 25 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license and a major credit card in their name.

ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR / NATIONAL CAR RENTAL DUAL RENTAL CAR PROGRAM

• The Enterprise/National team is the preferred rental car provider for Cornell University business travel in North America.  The UNIVERSAL Corporate Discount Number ( CDP # ) – XZ29019 can be used at both companies.

• Enroll in both enterprise plus and emerald club in order to receive expedited rentals.

• Available to all Cornell employees age 21 and older

• Any credit card can be used.

• Corporate Rentals include discount and all insurances everywhere.

• Personal Rentals include discount - but NO insurance.

• All Business rentals may be booked on the American Express AXIOM tool easily.  Rentals can be booked at www.enterprise.com or www.nationalcar.com just be sure to enter your CDP# to receive the proper rates and coverages.

• Rentals picking up & returning to Ithaca can be billed to your department using a Purchase Order.  These reservations must be made by calling the Ithaca Enterprise office,  607-275-9000.

Non-Preferred Car Rental Vendors

• If the Cornell preferred vendors are not available – or a lower rate is available - other Car Rental Agencies may be used for corporate rentals – but the Cornell Corporate Card must be used and Liability Insurance Accepted.  Renter should consult with Cornell Risk Management first to find if other insurances should be accepted.
